Because the Monon did not have a large yard area in Washington County, the model railroad’s staging and storage area is not normally visible to the public. It is located at the center of the layout.

The area includes several storage tracks and the electronic and power equipment needed to operate the layout.

Also, because this is one of the four areas where trains can pass each other, there are passing tracks in this area.
