Here John is seen .....

John K. Campbell, Sr. has been a fan of railroads since childhood. His older brothers' Marx train set was a most coveted play item when John was just a toddler. Later, when he was eleven, he was treated to an American Flyer "S" gauge set for Christmas.

Teen years were absorbed by cars, pals, girls. etc. Eventually, model railroading came home to stay when his own son,John Jr., used some birthday money to purchase an HO set and dad was again bitten by the bug.

John Sr.was building and running HO trains when The Depot project was proposed by Cecil Smith. Cecil, owner of the Train Shed, was consumed with work. When a role with The Depot was proposed to John, he jumped at the chance.

Since then, he has desgned the HO Monon project and has had a leading hand in its development.

Besides his son, John Jr., Mr. Campbell is married to Linda, his wife of 33 years. He has one daughter who currently studies Arabic languages and culture with plans to teach English as a second language. John's other interests include church and bible studies.
